BARMM 1st Business Confab

ZAMBOANGA CITY — About 250 delegates from across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and some members of the foreign chambers of commerce and representa­tives of their embassies will join the 1st Business Congress of the BARMM Business Council.

BARMM Business Council Chairman Atty. Ronald Torres said yesterday the 1st Bangsamoro Business Congress is scheduled to open on Tuesday at the Cotabato State University with local and foreign dignitarie­s and their business organizati­ons also expected in attendance.

Torres said notable traders from the provinces of Sultan Kudarat, Koronadal, General Santos, and Iligan City have also signified their intention to attend the two BBC days.

“Aside from local delegates, we also have confirmed delegates coming from different embassies and foreign chambers of commerce,” the BARMM -BBC chair said.

Various topics will be discussed and we will have business matching to do as well, Torres added.

BBC is a region-wide council that serves as the primary voice and representa­tive of the business sector in BARMM.

The council also provides innovative, excellent services, and advocacy in attaining a globally competitiv­e and dynamic economy.

BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim said it is preparator­y for the local entreprene­urs to be ‘socially prepared’ in entering into networking and innovation in business, commerce, marketing, trade, and industry.

According to the Minister, the upcoming business congress will open an avenue for “taking advantage of strong national and internatio­nal relations, particular­ly the ASEAN countries.”

“This event is targeting to promote the BARMM local industry and infrastruc­ture and enhance economic productivi­ty that will contribute to the region’s economic growth,” the minister said.
