Starting 2023 on the right foot

We have a whole roster of new models and programs to roll out after the New Year. Expect even more and bigger surprises from Chery in 2023!

It’s been a successful and event-filled 2022 for one of the newest, yet fastest-growing car brands in the country.

Just a little over two years since the brand’s launch in late 2019, Chery Auto Philippines already hit the ground running in 2022 as it held its very first Dealer Appreciation Ceremony last February in a virtual live telecast, wherein Chery Alabang won Dealer of the Year in its inaugural GRIT Awards.

Two months later in April, Chery made a splash at the first physical Manila International Auto Show since the global onslaught of the pandemic. It was the first time that the carmaker participated in MIAS and it was already a success as the brand brought the “Innovation that Inspires” theme to the show.

MIAS also saw the launch of the Tiggo 8 Pro lineup with the debut of the Tiggo 8 Pro 1.6T and Tiggo 8 PRO PHEV, both of which would soon become the brand’s most sought-after models. Likewise, the Tiggo 5x PRO was previewed.

Following the these launches in April, Chery had a ride-and-drive event in May and June for the two new sports utility vehicles with media partners and content creators in a two-leg “Conquering the Summit” media drive up and down Mt. Samat.

Sustaining its pro-active drive for the first half of the year, the Chinese company held its first-ever Club Drive to Tagaytay Highlands in June for all Tiggo owners in an effort to strengthen its relationship with its customers.

After holding five big events in the first two quarters of the year, the brand’s next major event was in the very next quarter, with a spectacular — and an eleventh hour — debut in the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc.’s Philippine International Motor Show in September.

Chery’s acceptance into CAMPI paved the way for the brand to join the official industry motor show, and to unveil its Tiggo 8 PRO 2.0T, completing the Tiggo 8 PRO triumvirate.

September also saw the recognition of the Best Midsized Crossover Award for the Tiggo 8 PRO 1.6T and the Best Hybrid Award for the Tiggo 8 PRO PHEV from the esteemed C! Magazine.

In October, Chery showcased its Tiggo 8 PRO PHEV at the 10th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit organized by Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines.

After this, November saw another Chery Tiggo Club Drive, this time to celebrate the brand’s third year anniversary in the country. Owners of all Tiggo models and variants, as well as members of the media joined the fun drive to Ayala Greenfield Golf and Leisure Club.

Finally, December bare witness yet another best-ever result from the brand, this time, in the field of sports. The Chery Tiggo Crossovers women’s professional volleyball team was able to successfully land a fourth place overall finish after the team’s rebuilding at the recently concluded Philippine Volleyball League 2022. The team was actually just a win away from a breakthrough third place podium finish — an achievement the team has firmly set its sights on in the next season.

Also, the month saw the wrap-up of the CHERY World of Luxury Mall Tour, which kicked off in July. The Tour showcased the luxurious Tiggo 8 Pro 1.6T and Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV in various malls in Metro Manila, offering bespoke and unique experiences to customers. The tour offered a bespoke experience to booth visitors and test drive participants. In total, it managed to tour 10 different premium malls in Metro Manila.

“Eleven major events and achievements in 2022 are just the tips of the iceberg in Chery Auto Philippines’ activities and efforts. The success and growth that the brand has achieved in just three years is spurring us to greater heights,” Chery Auto Philippines president Erroll Dueñas, said.

“But we’re far from accomplishing our goals. We have a whole roster of new models and programs to roll out after the New Year. Expect even more and bigger surprises from Chery in 2023!” exclaimed an enthusiastic Dueñas.
