Andre John Cue — Doing his Filipino-Chinese heritage proud

Andre John Cue, Caballero Universal Filipinas 2023, has not only brought honors to our country by winning the Best Body Award in the search for Caballero International in Venezuela, but has also proven himself most deserving as a role model for other young men of this country, who would look up to him for his smart and relevant lifestyle choices.
As we are celebrating the Chinese New Year of the Rabbit, I asked Andre some questions related to this special holiday and he sweetly and promptly sent us back his answers. A goat (born in 2003), Andre describes himself based on his animal sign as “the greatest of all time.”
A believer and practitioner of Kung Fu, the unarmed form of Chinese martial art, he hopes for “more blessings” this year.
His favorite destination is the Great Wall of China; his favorite Chinese restaurant is Tim Ho Wan; and he loves to eat fried rice, siomai, squid, and fish.
A fan of Jackie Chan, he admires most Bruce Lee.
This year, he hopes to “take and make opportunities” while believing that “the wise rabbit knows,” and keeping in mind that “the carrot will not hop to the rabbit.”
Andre attended the Kong Hua School where he was his class’ representative to the school’s Math Quiz Bee. He later attended the Xavier School of the Ateneo de Cagayan University where he was active in cheerdance and sports. He played a lead actor in the school’s production of The Sound of Music.
Andre’s parents are Oliver John Yu Cue and Mags Lopez Cue, the founder and chief executive officer of MAGS, the apparel brand with branches all over the Philippines.

Award received — Best Body Award. This award reminds me of how important health is in having a good quality of life
Any advice to fellow young men who want to join male pageants? — Never quit, never give up, just do it.
