Marcos: Sustain Iloilo’s progressive gains
He expressed optimism that the gathering will pave the way to rekindle the city’s commitment to work hard and contribute to nation-building
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Sunday extended his warmest greetings to the millions of Ilonggos as they celebrate the Dinagyang Festival after a three-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In his message, the President said he is one with the City of Iloilo in celebrating the Dinagyang festival which is known as a feast of the Infant Jesus and the pact between the Datus and the locals.
“I join you on this momentous occasion as you showcase llonggos’ creativity, vibrancy, resiliency, and faith amidst the challenges that come your way,” said Marcos.
He is also hoping that through the city’s cultural and religious celebration, it will sustain the “progressive gains of your locality, reaffirm your identity, strengthen your resolve, and work towards growth for your community.”
The President expressed optimism that the gathering will pave the way to rekindle the city’s commitment to work hard and contribute to nation-building.
“Most importantly, remember that in all the things that you do-always say grace for the blessings brought about by Holy Child Jesus-Señor Santo Niño,” Marcos said.
“May the divine providence bless our country and its people as well as keep us away from all the ills and perils that keep us divided. With the Almighty’s guidance, we will have the strength to overcome all difficulties and move forward,” he added.
In return, the Chief Executive vowed to do his best to maintain peace for all Filipinos.
“Rest assured, this administration is committed to bring forth a better, safer and more peaceful life for all Filipinos,” said Marcos.
