HK eases protocols, opens up to travelers
Cebu Pacific now flies up to four times daily to Hong Kong, which has become more accessible after authorities eased up on COVID-19 regulations for inbound travelers
Filipino travelers can now conveniently and seamlessly enjoy Hong Kong, a popular shopping and foodie paradise, after eased travel protocols were implemented in the special administrative region of China.
In a statement on Sunday, the Gokongwei-led budget carrier Cebu Pacific said its renewed flight frequency of up to 28 flights per week to Hong Kong will cater to the expected passenger demand to Hong Kong.
Cebu Pacific now flies up to 4x daily to Hong Kong, which has become more accessible after its government relaxed the Covid-19 regulations for inbound travelers.
Upon check-in, travelers must present a negative result from an antigen test taken within 24 hours or a negative 48-hour RT-PCR result, and proof of vaccination of primary doses for non-Hong Kong residents aged 12 or above.
The Covid-19 test results may also be submitted online through the Health and Quarantine Information Declaration. Travelers are required to keep photos of their test results for 90 days.
Self-arranged anUpon arriving in Hong Kong, travelers are encouraged to take a self-arranged antigen test daily until the fifth day of their arrival. Results of the antigen tests may be voluntarily reported through the Hong Kong government’s Electronic Covid-19 Monitoring and Surveillance System.
Passengers with existing Travel Funds may use these to pay for flights and other add-ons. Apart from the Travel Fund, other payment options such as payment centers, credit or debit cards, and e-wallets may also be used.
Cebu Pacific is set to fully restore its pre-Covid network and capacity in March 2023. It also intends to return to profitability by as early as the first quarter of the year as the industry recovers from the global health crisis.
It now flies to 34 domestic destinations and is set to restore all its 25 international destinations in the first quarter.
