‘My Golf Account’ up and running

-

Reiterating its promise to deliver the best service to the Filipino golfing community, the National Golf Association of the Philippines has announced the newest feature of its World Handicap System portal.

It is incorporated in the WHS service provider, DotGolf, which also runs handicap data for Golf New Zealand, among others.

It will have a “My Golf Account” feature, where players can access their personal adjusted handicaps, playing history — including hole-by-hole scores — and the courses they played.

Another interesting new feature of “My Golf Account” is the ability to add your golf friends, just like in Facebook.

This provides another avenue for golfers to come together as well as expand their network that could help them in the sport and beyond.

Aside from this, the players’ percentile rank within the club, region, and nationwide — which are based on handicap — will be visible once logged on to “My Golf Account.”

It is expected to motivate golfers to improve their games and move up to top percentile ranks.

There are an estimated 27,000 Filipino golfers subscribed to the WHS but NGAP believes the figure could be much bigger.

By comparison, there are 800,000 individuals with WHS login-access accounts in Malaysia and two million in Japan.

NGAP said players without any club memberships can soon have an account to help track down their games and help facilitate their tournaments. They are currently working on getting this next phase of the website up and running.
