Newport World Resorts opens up a World of Prosperity to usher in the auspicious year of the Wood Dragon this 2024. Take in a whole new world of good fortune and epic thrills with every visit to Newport this February.

Enter an enchanting Cherry Blossom Garden as it evokes the lovely feeling of spring all across the whole property. The God of Fortune makes a visit around the property to spread wealth and abundance for all from 9 to 11 February. The Ceremonial Lion and Dragon Dance happens on 13 February.

On 9 to 11 February, the stargazers align at The Plaza Newport Mall for a Psychic Fest. Guests get to talk to experts about their fortunes for the year ahead. The event features psychic reading options from various experts including crystal reading, chakra scanning, Scrying and more.

Lunar New Year or Spring Festival celebratio­ns are incomplete without the Yee Sang Prosperity Toss shared between family and friends. This year, NWR’s restaurant­s have prepared traditiona­l spreads for a Lo Hei toss for diners — from the Newport Garden Wing’s Happy 8 and Marriott Manila’s Man Ho to the Newport Grand Wing’s Hua Yuan Brasserie Chinoise at Hilton Manila.

For a different flavor for the festivitie­s, try the Tteok Mandu Guk from Sheraton Manila’s Oori Korean Restaurant for Seollal or Korean New Year celebratio­ns. Okura Manila celebrates the Year of the Dragon with Tatsudoshi 2024: Lunar New Year Buffet from 9 to 10 February at Yawaragi and seasonal Lunar Bento Kaiseki at Yamazato.

Finally, Asia’s Prince of Ballads Eric Moo returns to Manila for a soulful show at Newport Performing Arts Theater on

1 March.

Grand Hyatt Manila celebrates the Lunar New Year with a feast curated by the hotel’s Chinese master chefs. The celebratio­n will feature a live cooking show, a prosperity toss and a lion dance performanc­e. A Chinese New Year set menu is designed to delight six persons.
