First look at Win Metawin, Janella Salvador in ‘Under Parallel Skies’

The film, directed by Sigrid Bernardo, is the first pairing of Salvador and Thai actor Metawin on the big screen. It is also the first international film of the two stars.

Viewers had a first look at the crossover film Under Parallel Skies, starring Thai actor Win Metawin and Filipino actress Janella Salvador, when the movie’s official teaser was released on 1 February.

The film follows the story of a Thai bachelor (Metawin) who travels to Hong Kong in search of his missing mother. He encounters a Filipino hotelier (Salvador) who helps him navigate love, heartbreak and healing in the foreign city.

Directed by Sigrid Bernardo, the film is set to be released in April 2024 in cinemas. Richard Juan and Kristhoff Cagape of 28 Squared Studios serve as executive producers of the film, while Two Infinity Entertainment of Hong Kong serves as the co-production company.

Principal photography happened from June 2023 to July 2023 in Hong Kong, featuring locations such as Hong Kong’s nostalgic neighborhoods, its outlying islands and some of the city’s attractions. The Hong Kong Tourism Board supported the film as a destination partner.

Metawin rose to international prominence through the hit Thai series 2gether: The Series (2020) and F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers (2021). He is also a recording artist, lending his voice to soundtracks and releasing singles in the past years.

At the age of 14, Salvador bagged her first acting role on television when she starred in the Filipino series Be Careful With My Heart in 2012. Following her acting debut, she starred in other hit series including The Killer Bride (2019) and Darna (2022).
