USOP returns to Danang
Following a banner 2023, the U Series of Poker is making its anticipated return to Danang, Vietnam this Spring with boosted guarantees of over VN₫ 60 billion(~USD 2.45M).
The thrilling series set to run from 19 March through April 1 at the luxurious Pullman Danang Beach Resort, offers an extensive 71-event lineup, filling up the two-week schedule with unlimited action day and night.
The freshest brand to step into the regional scene made a big splash since its last appearance in the coastal city, having awarded a record-breaking festival prize pool of VN₫ 163 billion (~USD 6.74M) last November.
The smashing series stacked up to be the tour’s biggest event of the year after 1,595 entries turned up for its Main Event generating a massive prize pool amounting to VN₫ 34 billion (~USD 1.43M).
While previously held at Furama Resort, the USOP festivities are back this year with a new location just next door, ready to take on bigger goals.
This year’s USOP Danang is a two-part series with the second half slated for this August. The nearing Part 1 covers an action-packed schedule centered around its usual mix of bounty events, high roller specials, multi-day tournaments and generous prize pools.
The crown jewel of the series, however, remains to be the VN₫ 15 Billion (~USD 614K) guaranteed Main Event geared to run at the latter end of the series. Four starting flights are listed on schedule beginning on the 28th with each qualifying round set to play down to 12.5 percent of its field.
Day 2 is set on Sunday, 31 March, followed by the final table play on Monday, April 1st where a new champion will be crowned to wrap up the games.
Those looking for bigger action will similarly find their calendars packed from start to finish with at least nine high-roller events joining the schedule. Last USOP Danang’s Superstar Challenge proved to be a huge hit amongst the crowd with a record-breaking VN₫ 14.4 Billion (~USD 591K) prize pool collected after 133 entries turned up. South Korea‘s Jaewook Shin seized the win and captured the VN₫ 3.96 Billion (~USD 162K) top prize for his dominating run.
