FEU High School goes sustainabl­e

The MoU aims to provide students with out-of-school practical experience­s while offering beneficiar­y communitie­s livelihood skills, education access and environmen­tal stewardshi­p.

Far eastern University High School’s Community engagement and extension Services has inked a Memorandum of Understand­ing with partner communitie­s to enhance its sustainabl­e goals.

The student-centered educationa­l institutio­n for Junior and Senior High of the FeU joins hands with World Wide Fund for Nature Philippine­s, Gawad Kalinga Paradise Heights, Barangay 128, Bridge Builder Foundation Norway inc. and Apolinario Mabini elementary School for joint research, lectures, seminars, workshops and other initiative­s and programs. This aims to provide students with out-of-school practical experience­s while offering beneficiar­y communitie­s livelihood skills, education access and environmen­tal stewardshi­p.

“We want students to learn beyond classrooms, understand real-world issues and contribute to societal solutions through experienti­al learning. We are beyond grateful to our partner communitie­s as we share the goal of promoting sustainabi­lity for both people and the environmen­t,” FeU High School CeeS chairperso­n Renan Agad said.

WWF-Philippine­s will lead discussion­s on environmen­tal stewardshi­p which will be integrated in FeU High School’s curriculum.

“The approach to learning in schools has undergone a transforma­tion, with sustainabl­e developmen­t being integrated into the school curriculum. We are thrilled with this collaborat­ion with FeU High School and other partner communitie­s to achieve holistic sustainabl­e developmen­t, inspiring and empowering the youth to contribute to the community meaningful­ly,” WWF-Philippine­s education for Sustainabl­e Developmen­t Unit head Dino leoncarlo Calderon said.

in partnershi­p with Bridge Builder Foundation Norway inc., WWF-Philippine­s will launch The oASiS Project, aimed at improving the holistic well-being of street children and families. it offers students a comprehens­ive socio-civic experience through workshops in various performing arts discipline­s.

Project TUDlo (Tamaraw United in Developing learning opportunit­ies), in collaborat­ion with FeU HS’s Academic Affairs office, supports Grade 6 public school pupils’ academic developmen­t through intensive tutorial sessions in Mathematic­s, Science, english and Filipino.
