Brandon boosts TNT frontline

- IVAN SUING

The frontline of TNT Tropang Giga got a massive boost after it landed Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser ahead of the Philippine Basketball Association Philippine Cup that is set to open tomorrow at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

In a series of trades that was approved by the Commissioner’s Office on Monday afternoon, NLEX shipped Ganuelas-Rosser to Blackwater for Ato Ular, Yousef Taha and its first-round pick in Season 51.

But Ganuelas-Rosser’s return to the Bossing, the team that acquired him with the top overall pick in 2022, will not push through after they shipped him to TNT Tropang Giga in exchange for injured big man Justin Chua, Jaydee Tungcab, and its first-round pick also in Season 51.

Ganuelas-Rosser’s move to TNT will not only reunite him with his older brother, Matt, but will also address the squad’s dearth in the shaded lanes.

TNT is in dire need of a big man following the absence of 6-foot-7 Poy Erram, who is still out after undergoing surgery to repair his torn medial collateral ligament last year.

The Tropang Giga already acquired 6-foot-6 Barkley Eboña from free agency last week, reuniting him with team manager Jojo Lastimosa who used to be part of the coaching staff when he was still with Far Eastern University in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines.

The 6-foot-6 Ganuelas-Rosser averaged 8.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game with NLEX in the recent Commissioner’s Cup.

He is set to get his baptism of fire in Tropang Giga uniform when they face Rain or Shine in the opener on Tuesday.
