Anthony Jennings is grateful that he’s given a big feature in an online magazine, five years after playing all sorts of minor roles in the past.

“It was a fun experience working with Preview, thank you for featuring me!” came his show of gratitude for the feature which he posted on his Instagram account.

And fans lapped it up as his success did not come on a silver platter.

For one supporter, Jennings is a hardworking breadwinner in the family and “you deserve all the blessings you’re getting.”

Born to a Filipino mom and British dad, the Can’t Buy Me Love actor toiled long and hard to be where he is now. He joined showbiz as part of the Star Magic Circle 2019 along with Belle Mariano and Gillian Vicencio. He was introduced in the blockbuster movie Hello, Love Goodbye, starring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards, where he played the lead actor’s youngest sibling. This was followed by the 2021 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Love At First Stream with Kaori Oinuma, Daniela Stranner and Jeremiah Lisbo. He also starred in Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano’s teleserye Make It With You, his first ever. Unfortunately, it was canceled due to Covid-19 restriction. Then came Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla’s House Arrest of Us (2020).

Jennings’ Snoop character became popular in Can’t Buy Me Love alongside Maris Racal’s Irene Tiu character.

Why Jo Berry feels pressured in latest ‘teleserye’

Little big superstar Jo Berry feels she’s on pins and needles as her titular legal drama series, Lilet Matias: Attorney-at-Law, is all poised to start airing next week.

In the series, Berry plays a househelper who went through a lot before becoming a lawyer.

“Sa totoo lang po, malaking pressure hindi lang sa akin kundi sa ating lahat sa production team, but at the same time, I think (it’s) good pressure naman kasi nagsumikap kami na magawang maganda at magampanan nang maayos ’yung mga characters namin kasi

’yung sinusundan namin ay isang magandang show (In truth, it’s a great pressure not just for me but to all of us in the production team but as the same time I think it’s good pressure since we all work hard to make it a beautiful and played our characters great because what we’re following is a good show),” she said.

Playing a lawyer, named Atty. Lilet Matias, for the first time, Berry prepared immensely so as to play her character with conviction.

“Pinanood po kami ng series at pinattend kami ng court hearings bago mag-start ’yung taping namin. Every court scene po ay may kasama kaming lawyer (We watched a series and we attended a court hearing before we start taping. In every court scene, we have a lawyer),” she said.

Since there is a specific jargon for a legal show, Berry revealed that everyone on the set is helping each other in understanding legal terms.

Up until now, Berry admits she has not been used to playing her character which she feels is better as “it keeps me on my toes every time.”

Joining Berry in the series to air 4 March, 3:20 p.m. on GMA’s Afternoon Prime, are Maricel Laxa, Sheryl Cruz, Rita Avila, Bobby Andrews, Lloyd Samartino, Jason Abalos, Troy Montero, EA Guzman, Ariel Villasanta, Joaquin Domagoso, Zonia, Mejia and Hannah Arguelles. It is written by Marion Miguel, Benson Logronio, Jhai Shane Canete and Libay Trinidad. It’s directed by Adolfo Alix Jr.
