JASON DY’S DREAM COLLAB PARTNER IS SARAH GERONIMO
Celebrating his ninth anniversary in showbiz this 2024, Jason Dy reveals that his wish for next year is a collab with popstar and The Voice coach Sarah Geronimo.
Dy articulated this during the launch of his latest single “Magsabi Ka Lang.” “Siyempre, ang wish ko talaga na sana matuloy is (a collab) with Sarah Geronimo.
Sana matuloy ’yun. I am writing a song and I will try to pitch kay Coach Sarah. Sana magka-duet kami (Of course, my wish that I really hope will push through is a collab with Sarah Geronimo. I am writing a song and I will try to pitch it to Coach Sarah. I hope we can do a duet),” Dy said after his performance. Now, he looks forward to releasing more music and doing concert tours this year while also appearing as a judge in the new season of Tawag ng Tanghalan,
which is a singing competition on It’s Showtime.
“I’m hoping to release more singles and collaborate with other artists. I just recently became a hurado (judge) on
Tawag ng Tanghalan, which is super fun. Kind of like a full-circle moment. And we’re cooking up some concert tours with fellow Cornerstone artists here and abroad,” he shared, referring to the talent agency he belongs to.
“’Magsabi Ka Lang’ is part of the songs I’ve written many years ago. Unti-unti ko lang siyang nilalabas (Slowly I am releasing it). Basically, the concept was going through stages of grief, pero hindi (but not) about death [and instead] the death of relationships. [It’s about] pinagdadaanan lang ng isang tao (what a person goes through) emotionally, starting to feel bad about the relationship, ’yung untiunti na kayong maghihiwalay (like you’re on slowly separating).”
“It’s a bargaining phase,” he added. “Nakikipag-usap siya sa partner niya, ‘Ayusin natin’ (He was talking to his partner, ‘Let’s fix this). So, nasa bargaining stage siya,” he added.
Dy revealed that he wrote the track along with his previous singles “Gusto Ko Pa” and “UlitUlit” that both mirror the stages of grief.
