The upcoming hospital confinement of Kris Aquino at the University of California, Los Angeles in the United States for the treatment of her autoimmune diseases has been postponed. This was disclosed by Batangas vice governor Mark Leviste, who’s been romantically linked to the TV host and actress. He gave an update on Aquino’s situation to the media during the recent BarakoFest 2024 festivities in Lipa, Batangas.

“She postponed her confinement at UCLA Hospital. While I was still there, nagkaroon ng (there was a) Covid alert sa mga (at the) medical facilities,” he said.

Leviste added he had to come home due to the same Covid-alert, but he vowed to fly back to Los Angeles any time soon, especially if Aquino “needs him” to be there. At the same time, he emphasized that he has a role to fulfill to his constituents, as he holds the second highest office in the province.

“Siyempre, may mga responsibilidad naman din ako dito kaya kailangang magtrabaho din. But as I’ve said, isang tawag lang, mabilis pa ako sa alas-kuwatro na darating sa Los Angeles,” he said. (Of course, I have responsibilities here, that’s why I also need to work. Just one call, I’ll be there as fast as I could.)

Last October, Leviste shared photos on Instagram with Aquino being visited by closest friends Kim Chiu and Boy Abunda in California. He also took the opportunity to pen a sweet and heartfelt message to Aquino, writing, “I miss you and I always pray for you and I love you. Alam mo’ yan.” (You know that.)

The politician also said at the media huddle, “Her condition is critical. Pero sa awa ng Diyos, nairaraos. Malaking bagay ’yung mga panalangin na pinapaabot natin sa kanila.” (But with God’s grace, she overcomes it. The prayers she gets are a big help.) He added that Aquino’s sisters and closest friends are taking care of her.

Aquino, for her part, had a live interview with Abunda in an episode aired last month of his GMA program, Fast Talk with Boy Abunda. She said she would be trying a new medicine that could prevent a cardiac arrest.

She earlier revealed in an Instagram post that her CREST syndrome is “in full active mode,” along with the Churg-Strauss syndrome. She added that she’s exhibiting the initial symptoms of lupus, likewise an autoimmune disease.
