Asia Aquatics lauds Phl hosting

-

The Asia Aquatics tipped its hat off to the local organizing committee led by Joseph Alcazar for the successful hosting of the 11th Asian Age Group Championship at the New Clark City Aquatic Center in Tarlac.

In a letter dated 11 March, Asia Aquatics executive director Farid Fattahian of Kuwait said they are very pleased with how the tournament was run despite the massive challenge of hosting around 1,000 athletes and 1,500 delegates from 33 countries.

In particular, Fattahian praised the leadership of Alcaraz, who served as chief executive officer with Dave Carter as chief operating officer.

“I would like to extend my sincere thanks to you and your colleague for your immense dedication to the successful organization of the 11th Asian Age Group Championships 2024 in the New Clark City, Philippines,” Fattahian said.

“I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. My sincere appreciation to volunteers, local organizing committee and all the technical officials for their unwavering support and passion.”

“Wishing you and your colleagues continued success in your future endeavors.”

Alcazar said the success of their hosting was due to the collaboration among the workforce and volunteers of the local organizing committee.

“We can attribute the success to the hard-working workforce and volunteers of the local organising committee,” he said, extending gratitude to the aquatics officials who pinned their trust on them.

“We also thank the trust and support given by World Aquatics, Asia Aquatics and Philippine Aquatics for us to be able to mount this historic event. It should be so far the biggest international Aquatics event in the country hosted at the world-class Aquatics facility of the New Clark City.”

In a previous statement, no less than World Aquatics president Hussain Al-Mussallam lauded the successful staging of the event that was held under the leadership of Philippine Aquatics Inc. president Miko Vargas and secretary general Eric Buhain.

“Before I came here, I was not thinking about the facility I will see, but what I saw was beautiful. It’s not Asia but you can also host world events,” Al-Musallam said, giving the hosting a perfect mark of 10.

“What I have said before, you deserved a 10.”
