First ‘PBB 737’ evictee
And out you go...
Barbie Imperial, tagged as the “Doll Along Da Riles,” is out of “Pinoy Big Brother 737.”
Bailey Thomas May was saved by the public after getting 62.16% of votes versus Barbie’s 37.84%.
In her two-week stay on the reality show, Barbie was caught in a few controversies, including her clashing with fellow housemate Kamille and getting romantically linked to Bailey.
The 16-year-old Barbie and 12-year-old Bailey admitted feelings for each other, but agreed that they’re still too young for a relationship.
During the eviction on Friday, Barbie told host Toni Gonzaga that the show taught her to adjust in dealing with people.
“Doon ko natutunan ’yung pakikisama, kasi medyo kulang ako doon. I admit na meron akong
attitude problem, pero ako ’yung tao na kahit madaming bad experiences sa buhay ko, para sa akin may rason po iyon kung bakit po iyon nangyari,” Barbie said.
Albay Governor Joey Salceda posted a reaction on Barbie’s eviction on Facebook.
“Barbie deserves to be treated better. Their loss, our gain. Banned muna
ang ‘PBB’ till the other Albayano is to be defended,” Salceda’s post read in part.
Thomas Rodriguez is the other housemate from Albay.
Prior, executives of “PBB 737” were summoned by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) over “numerous feedback and complaints” the agency is said to have received from viewers. A developmental conference has been set on July 9 during which they will discuss safety measures on the welfare of the contestants.
Housemates Bailey and Kenzo are abuzz on social media after photos that seemingly show them getting cozy went viral. Some netizens insinuated they are having a “bromance” but the show’s resident psychologist Dr. Randy Dellosa explained it is just brotherly love.
“Malicious posts” about the housemates prompted ABS-CBN to shut down the free 24/7 livestreaming of the program on cable TV (SkyCable) and online (iWant TV and TFC.tv) last Friday.
ABS-CBN’s statement on the matter read in part: “‘Pinoy Big Brother 737’ housemates Bailey May, 12, and Kenzo Gutierrez, 18, have recently been the subject of malicious posts that have gone viral on social media. These posts are made by irresponsible netizens who maliciously take screenshots from the program’s live stream and weave a narrative that is not only far from the truth, but also attempts to put the housemates in a bad light. They mislead the public by manipulating the images to put malice to otherwise innocent acts.
“ABS-CBN vehemently condemns these irresponsible social media posts that malign the reputation of the housemates. We are concerned with the welfare of our young housemates and it is our responsibility to protect them. We will not allow them to be subjected to cyberbullying. We will not tolerate the abuse of social media.
“We appeal to the public to stop perpetuating abuse and use social media responsibly.”
