Dengue lanes back

With the increasing number of dengue cases in the Philippine­s, the Department of Health (DOH) has ordered the revival of dengue express lanes in government-run hospitals, a health official disclosed. DOH Spokesman Eric Tayag said the health department have already ordered the reactivati­on of dengue express lanes in areas where there are steadily increasing number of the mosquito-borne diseases. Latest DOH data showed there are already 66,299 dengue cases recorded from January 1 to July 16. The figure is 22.9 percent higher compared with the same period as last year – 53,938. “DOH Secretary Paulyn Ubial has said that hospitals should establish dengue express lanes to prevent overcrowdi­ng,” Tayag noted.
