Dengue lanes back
With the increasing number of dengue cases in the Philippines, the Department of Health (DOH) has ordered the revival of dengue express lanes in government-run hospitals, a health official disclosed. DOH Spokesman Eric Tayag said the health department have already ordered the reactivation of dengue express lanes in areas where there are steadily increasing number of the mosquito-borne diseases. Latest DOH data showed there are already 66,299 dengue cases recorded from January 1 to July 16. The figure is 22.9 percent higher compared with the same period as last year – 53,938. “DOH Secretary Paulyn Ubial has said that hospitals should establish dengue express lanes to prevent overcrowding,” Tayag noted.
