We are optimistic that our presence in this event will contribute to the success of the exhibitors’ businesses that, in return, will help drive the growth of the Philippine economy,” Usec. The creation of the DICT in June 2016 reinforces the Philippine government’s goal of improving the ICT sector in the country. In fact, in March 2017, the DICT received approval to establish a national broadband system as part of the Philippines’ ICT agenda to enhance infrastructure development for inclusive growth and people empowerment. The National Broadband Plan is focused on accelerating investments in the country, mobilizing and engaging public and private sectors, and connecting as well as increasing adoption and usage of technology tools and solutions across the Philippines.
