Local shares stage a rebound

After a full-week decline last week, local stocks finally rebounded yesterday. The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) rose by 62.20 points or 0.80 percent, closing at 7,876.37. The broader All-Shares index likewise rebounded by 25.18 points or 0.54 percent to finish 4,704.47. Trading volume rose to a total of 2.0 billion shares, valued at R9.16 billion, changing hands. Decliners topped advancers, 103-94, with 50 issued unchanged. Meanwhile, Aian stocks were mostly higher in range-bound trade on Tuesday after Wall Street closed mixed, while Asian tech shares mirrored losses in US peers overnight.
