Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya finalist
CEBU CITY — The Catubig family of Barangay Bogo, Maria, Siquijor is one of the top five finalists in the 2017 Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya National Search, according to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) office for Central Visayas.
DSWD received the information after the contest judges finished the desk validation at the DSWD Central Office in Quezon City. The judges have started conducting the field validation, which includes home visitation and interview with the family, their neighbors, Pantawid Pamilya co-beneficiaries, local officials, and other people in the community.
Five families were from Regions 6, 4-A, 11 and NIR.
The winners will be announced during National Family Week from September 24 to 30.
Paulino and Rosemarie Catubig have eight children. They taught their children different household chores and backyard gardening.
The couple is also active in community activities.
As a Pantawid Pamilya beneficiary, the family complies with all the program’s conditionalities like attending monthly Family Development Session (FDS) and regular vaccination for children.
The search for Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya aims to recognize exemplary family beneficiaries and showcase their stories of hope and resilience. (Mars W. Mosqueda Jr.)
