More point-to-point buses accept Beep Cards
From just three routes two years ago, point-to-point (P2P) buses have expanded from Fairview in the north to Dasmariñas, Cavite in the south and now, more are accepting payment via Beep cards.
Effective this week, commuters can pay for rides in TAS Trans’ pointto-point (P2P) buses plying Nuvali, Sta. Rosa, Laguna to Promenade Glorietta 2 and Circuit Makati, Makati City using beep™ cards, AF Payments, Inc. announced.
Until the end of November this year, TAS Trans is offering a R150 one-way promo fare. The regular oneway fare is R250 while the discounted fare for senior citizens, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and students cost R120.
Buses leave every 20 minutes during peak hours to an hour during off-peak hours, or when the bus is full, from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
TAS Trans premium P2P buses are 45-seaters, with provisions for a wheelchair and free Wi-Fi. All buses are GPS-enabled and equipped with CCTVs and first aid kits. Its drivers are competent to administer emergency medical aid.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) created the P2P bus service system to reduce traffic congestion since these buses travel nonstop from the terminal to the drop-off point. As an added convenience, the seats are guaranteed, premium amenities are offered and buses depart as scheduled.
“P2P buses offer a convenient alternative to ease commuting worries. The service is continuously expanding and with beep™ card acceptance, commuters can transfer seamlessly from one line to another,” according to Peter Maher, AF Payments, Inc. President and CEO.
Local contactless payment solutions provider AF Payments, Inc. is a consortium of Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC) and Ayala Corp. Its tap-to-pay system, the beep™ card, can be used in all three elevated railways (LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3), select buslines, CAVITEX, NLEX, as well as select FamilyMart and Robinsons Movieworld branches.
The beep card is reloadable up to R10,000 and valid for four years. Off-rail reloading options include select outlets of Bayad Center, SM Bills Payment, Villarica, Tambunting, FamilyMart, and Circle K.
