All-natural non-toxic bird flu solution

It is not only the domestic market of our poultry products that are adversely affected by avian flu but our export as well. It will be recalled that the Philippines’ northern Mindanao has recently added poultry to its export champions with an initial shipment to Japan of chicken cut-up parts and whole Peking duck, all from Bukidnon in the year 2013.

Before 2013 ended, the Philippines successfully entered South Korea’s US$300-million fresh frozen chicken market after the Korean Quarantine Inspection Agency granted Bulacanbased Bounty Fresh Food, Inc. the approval to export its fresh chicken products to the East Asian country.

This development opened the door for the Philippines to become the first and only Asian country to export poultry products to South Korea, boosting its distinction as a reliable source of safe and quality meat products. In the same year negotiations were also underway for the Philippines to export whole dressed chicken, pork and other meat products to the equally lucrative United Arab Emirates market, primarily aimed at Filipino workers and other foreign expatriates there.

On Aug. 24, 2017 the Department of Agriculture officially announced the test results from the Australia Animal Health Laboratory that the Avian Flu Virus that infected poultry in the Provinces of Pampanga and Nueva Ecija was of the H5N6 strain, a virus that is transmittable to humans.

Different strains of bird flu have also spread in Asia in recent months, leading to the slaughtering of millions of birds in South Korea and Japan and several human infections in China.

In another incident – as of Aug. 26, 2017 in the Philippines a total of 259 suspected cases of Japanese encephalitis have been recorded in the province of Pampanga since July, 2017. Japanese encephalitis (JE) is an infection of the human brain caused by the mosquito-borne Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) [Source of definition: Wikipedia] Cases of Japanese encephalitis continue to rise in Pampanga with 4 recorded dead. Pampanga was reported to have the most cases of Japanese encephalitis in Central Luzon. The Department of Health and the Department of Agriculture should investigate the possibility of any direct or indirect connection between the recent avian flu virus which started in Pampanga with the sudden rise in cases of the Japanese encephalitis, also in Pampanga during the same time frame.

Japanese encephalitis is caused by a flavivirus, which can affect both humans and animals. The virus is passed from animals to humans through the bite of an infected mosquito. Pigs and wading birds are the main carriers of the Japanese encephalitis virus. A mosquito becomes infected after sucking the blood from an infected animal or bird. If a human gets bitten by an infected mosquito, it can pass on the virus to the human. This disease is known as a neurological infection because it mainly destroys the human brain, and if neglected, can cause death.

Could it be possible that when the hundreds of thousands of birds were culled or incinerated in Pampanga during the outbreak of the avian flu virus several mosquitoes were in the same area hovering and sucking the infected blood of the sick and or dead birds in Pampanga and these mosquitoes in turn bit humans in the surrounding area causing the Japanese encephalitis in the humans.

As I mentioned in Part I of this report on bird flu – there is now an all-natural, non-toxic, non-hazardous, organic, and baby-safe solution that can replace the present traditional, inorganic, toxic and hazardous method prevalently used in the poultry industry.

Numerous health organizations, including the American Medical Association, American Public Health Association, Infectious Disease Society of America, and the World Health Organization, agree and have called for significant reductions in the use of antibiotics for animal food production. Significantly, some countries in Europe such as Denmark have now also banned the use of livestock antibiotics.
