Manila Sampaloc Lions Club installs lady president today
The Lions Club of Manila Sampaloc will have a new president in the person of Maria Cristina Roque as it celebrates today its 49th Charter Anniversary at a hotel in Pasay City.
Imelda Elizalde, club public relations committee chairperson, said the event at the Jen Hotel on Roxas Boulevard will be highlighted by the club’s 50th Induction Ceremonies installing Ms. Roque as the new club president.
Three past directors of Lions Clubs International – Michael So, Vic Yong Cheng, and Enrique Lim – will be the occasion’s inspirational speakers.
To be sworn-in as the new set of club officers along with Ms. Roque are Capt. Hiro Juan Ramon Panday, immediate past president; Carolyn Cendana, 1st vice president; Roberto Espiritu, 2nd vice president; Christhopher Woon, 3rd vice president; Agnes Teaderman, secretary; Miriam Marano, treasurer; Past President Ma. Elena Pelgone, auditor; Rufino Dadez, tail twister; Lorenzo Langomez, lion tamer; Past Zone Chairperson Masao Sato, LCIF coordinator; Past Council Chairperson Roberto B. Roque Jr., membership director; Past President Sylvia Espiritu, membership co-chairperson; Ivan Rey Lilles and Michelle Tibay, two-year directors; Antonita Pador, Glenda Lugtu, and Dr. Albert Espiritu, one-year directors.
Elizalde said they will be inducted into office by Multiple District 301 Philippines Council Chairperson George Ong Tan.
The club’s committee chairpersons will be sworn-in by District 301-A2 Governor Jaime Ong while the officers of the Leo Club, the youth group of the Lions, will be inducted by District 301-A2 Governor Marlan Manguba, MD 301 Council Secretary. Manila Sampaloc is a chartered club of Lions Clubs International.
