Go after illegal gambling protectors, Iloilo cops told

ILOILO CITY – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) must not only validate the list of alleged protectors or financiers of illegal gambling activities and operations, but must likewise find hard evidence, Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. said.

“If the police have evidence, then they should charge all those in the list so those can be prosecuted,” said Defensor.

The governor issued the challenge after Senior Superintendent Marlon Tayaba, IPPO chief, disclosed that he ordered his men to validate the list of suspected illegal gambling coddlers. (Tara Yap)
