Streetlights installed
CARMEN, Surigao del Sur – Streetlights were finally erected and installed in two far-flung communities in Carmen, Surigao del Sur. This, after the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-CIDSS) program, was able to install solar-powered streetlights in Barangays Cancayan and Antao. DSWD 13 Regional Director Mita Chuchi G. Lim said Barangay Cancavan received 40 solar-powered streetlights worth R1.2 million, while Barangay Antao took delivery of 28 units worth R874,750. These solar power units were turned over during back-toback blessing, inauguration and turn over ceremonies in said barangays on September 5, she said. (Mike U. Crismundo)
