NCRPO relieves entire Pasay precinct personnel
Philippine National Police - National Capital Region Police Office (PNP - NCRPO) chief Director Oscar Albayalde, has ordered the relief of a precinct commander in Pasay City and his 30 subordinates for allegedly failing to return recovered money from a robbery victim.
Albayalde issued the order based on information that operatives from the Police Community Precinct 3 in Pasay City took the money recovered from a robbery suspect and divied it among themselves.
“There was this complaint about money being recovered by some policemen there in an operation. And we are looking into the allegation that they did not return it to the owner and divided it among themselves,” said Albayalde.
"That's part of the procedure of the PNP, when there is an allegation of misdeed - relieved sila (they are being relieved) to pave way for the investigation," Southern Police District director Chief Supt. Tomas Apolinario Jr. told the Manila Bulletin.
Superintendent Jenny Tecson, SPDPublic Information Office (PIO) chief, bared that the male robbery victim reported the incident, which tookmplace last August 8, to TV personality Ramon Tulfo.
Tecson said the victim was onboard his car when the suspects held him up and took his valuables and money.
The police then arrested the suspects and recovered the money, which was not turned over to the victim.
"We are urging the victim to formally file a complaint," Tecson said.
Tecson also clarified that it was the former commander of Arnaiz PCP, Chief Inspector Remedios Terte, who was relieved, not the recently assigned commander, Chief Inspector Marvin Oloan.
