- By ELLALYN DE VERA RUIZ

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned of possible flash floods and landslides over parts of western Luzon that could be triggered by tropical depression “Nando.”

As of 4 p.m. Saturday, PAGASA estimated the location of Nando at 280 kilometers west northwest of Dagupan City in Pangasinan. It packs maximum winds of 45 kph and gustiness of up to 60 kph. It is forecast to move west northwest at 24 kph.

Nando is expected to bring

moderate to at times heavy rains, strong winds, flshfloods, and landslides in Zambales and Bataan. Possible lightnings, strong winds, and light to moderate rains may prevail over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan.

By Monday, PAGASA said another LPA may form and affect the eastern part of Visayas and Mindanao.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

By Tuesday, scattered light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Visayas, Bicol Region, and the eastern section of Luzon, while the rest of the country will be affected by localized rain showers and thunderstorms with partly cloudy to cloudy skies.

PAGASA said that by Wednesday until Thursday, the LPA is expected to cross the Visayas and will bring cloudy skies with scattered light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms over Southern Luzon, Visayas, and the eastern sections of Northern and Central Luzon.

The rest of the country will be affected by localized rain showers and thunderstorms with partly cloudy to cloudy skies.

The LPA will likely weaken and dissipate by Friday. The whole country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with localized rain showers and thunderstorms.
