Joshua Garcia, Jerome Ponce, Nash Aguas, and McCoy de Leon lead the cast of ABS-CBN’s newest teleserye “The Good Son.” The four are the Buenavidez siblings in the story.

“Magandang experience iyon kasi iba-iba sila ng atake so may matututunan ako sa kanila. Masarap sila katrabaho, masaya. Para kaming magkakapatid na apat. Walang lamangan, pantay-pantay lang,” Joshua, who plays the role of Jopet, said of his young co-stars.

On “The Good Son,” the brothers have two different mothers. They have to prove their innocence in the mysterious death of their father played by Albert Martinez. Acting along seasoned actors, including John Estrada, Eula Valdez, Mylene Dizon, and Ronnie Lazaro, Joshua feels honored to learn from them.

There’s no stopping Joshua’s career from rising. He got his breakthrough in the Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Vince & Kath & James” and had another blockbuster hit in “Love You To The Stars And Back.”

“The Good Son” directors Manny Palo and Andoy Ranay see big potential in Joshua.

“Nakita ko na gustong-gusto niya where he is right now. Malayo pa ang mararating niya, sobrang layo pa. Si Joshua, he really has the makings of a great actor. Basta maging gutom lang siya and humble. Seryoso siya sa trabaho niya,” Andoy said.

Another “Pinoy Big Brother” alumnus is McCoy. Following his stint on “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” McCoy finally landed a big role playing the happy-go-lucky Obet. McCoy and his love team partner Elisse Joson are reunited here.

At the same time, ginagawa namin ’yung passion namin,” McCoy said.

McCoy’s character is different from Jopet, who is responsible and will do anything for their family. Being one of the leadings casts in primetime television for the first time, McCoy finds his new role challenging.

Compared to his boy-next-door type of character on “Be Careful With My Heart,” Jerome unleashes his edgier side as Lorenzo. He and Nash play the the legitimate sons of Albert and Eula (Olivia). Jerome shared that the show allows him to flex his acting muscles.

People have seen Nash ever since he

Alam mo ’yung tama at mali.

As the eldest child, Nash also takes a big responsibility in their family. He helps his mother in raising his younger sibling. At such a young age, Nash is now an entrepreneur as he has just opened a Japanese restaurant with his former “Goin Bulilit” co-star.

The directors have nothing but good words for these young stars as they advise them to keep striving and loving their job as actors.

“Magkakaiba ’yung personality nila. Magkakaiba ’yung strengths and weaknesses nila. Pero ang maganda sa kanila, they’re all willing to learn. And they’re also passionate and dedicated. It’s our job to guide them para ma-achieve ’yung mga eksena. Read the script, come prepared, para pagdating nila sa set, alam nila kung anong gagawin nila. Pagaralan nila ’yung mga characters. I always tell them to study the characters but not rehearse,” Manny said.

“The Good Son” starts airing tomorrow after “La Luna Sangre.”
