Beauty queen Pia Wurtzbach and race car driver Marlon Stöckinger are still together.
Rumors have it they are no more following the deletion of their photos together on their respective social media accounts.
At the Star Magic Ball held over the weekend, Pia walked the red carpet alone but clarified their relationship is going strong.
“I always go solo every time I attend the Star Magic Ball. Kaya that’s the reason they call it a Miss Universe because a woman can walk alone. But Marlon and I are fine, don’t get me wrong. We’re okay,” Pia told the press.
The couple admitted their relationship early this year but was rumored last month to have broken up when netizens also noticed they unfollowed each other on Instagram. They in- advertently squashed the gossip, though, when Marlon posted a sweet birthday message for Pia, who turned 28 last Sept. 24. “We’re doing fine. He’s also busy right now with his racing thing,” she said. “He has his own thing to do and I have my own thing to do.” Following her stint in the Miss Universe, Pia seems to be more focused now on her showbiz comeback. She is doing the movie “Gandarrapiddo: The Revengers” with Vice Ganda and Daniel Padilla for the Metro Manila Film Festival. “So far, it’s been great. I’m having a lot of fun with Star Cinema,” she said. Pia, who was then called Pia Romero, first joined showbiz in her teenage years as part of the Star Circle Batch 11 in the early 2000s. Among her batchmates were Maja Salvador and Nikki Gil.
Returning to acting after so many years, Pia admitted having some adjustments but she is surely enjoying this new page in her career.
“Recently, I also started doing ‘Showtime,’ so ang saya. I’m a co-host (there) at the moment while I am in the country. Medyo nanibago ako, may kaunting adjustment. Kailangan kong tanggalin ’yung masyadong prim and proper na dating. Kailangan mas approachable, mas casual. Actually, madali naman sa akin iyon,” she said. While Pia is busy with local showbiz, she is still involved with the Miss Universe organization. She will attend this year’s pageant in the US if her schedule permits.
“They’re inviting me to attend the next Miss Universe competition and I’m crossing my fingers that I can really make it. But right now my priority is actually finishing the movie. If it’s finished by then, I will definitely be going to the Miss Universe,” she said.
