Singapore Airlines, Grab forge extensive partnership with new apps
Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Grab announced that they are integrating their mobile apps to provide customers in six Southeast Asian countries with more seamless travel experiences.
Now, SIA customers in the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam can book Grab rides through the SingaporeAir mobile app.
Customers using the app will see an option to book a Grab ride to the airport seven days before their scheduled flight.
Selecting this option will direct customers to the Grab app, where they can choose to order a Grab ride to the airport.
The airport will be automatically listed as the destination, so the user simply fills in the pick-up point and desired time.
Members of SIA’s KrisFlyer and Grab’s GrabRewards programs will enjoy additional benefits under the new partnership.
GrabRewards members have the flexibility to convert their GrabRewards points into KrisFlyer miles.
Customers can win a pair of Economy Class tickets to The Maldives if they enter the code “GRABSQ” in the promo field in the Grab app booking screen for every Grab ride they take between October 9 and November 9, 2017.
The customer with the most Grab rides booked during this period will win.
"With GrabRewards, a dollar spent on Grab is more valuable than a dollar spent in cash," according to Jason Thompson, Head of GrabPay.
"By integrating Grab’s and SIA’s loyalty programs, customers can look forward to using their points when they plan for their next holiday."
Grab is in more than 100 cities across seven countries including Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Myanmar.
Singapore Airlines operates services to over 60 destinations in more than 30 countries on five continents worldwide.
