I(Part IV)

the light of the events happening world-wide today, especially in the US and Israel, the Biblical prophecies especially on the end times come alive. And relating these aforesaid events and Biblical prophecies with the history of both countries – it is undeniably true, as many Bible leaders/teachers/preachers strongly believe that there is indeed a US-Israel Biblical link.

While there are many (like the agnostics and atheists) who refuse to believe that US was founded upon the Bible, historical records, like the original writings, speeches, and personal correspondence of the Founding Fathers of US show that their lives, their values, and their principles were rooted in the Holy Bible. In a book “Can America Survive?” by John Hagee, a Bible preacher, writer, founder and chairman of Christians United for Israel, he cited the statements of some of the Founding Fathers regarding the Holy Bible which I am quoting hereunder:

“George Washington, the father of our nation and the first president of the United States, stated: “It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible.”

John Quincy Adams, the sixth president, stated: “The first and… the only book deserving of universal attention is the Bible. I speak as a man of the world… and I say to you ‘Search the Scriptures.’”

Andrew Jackson, the seventh president, stated, referring to the Bible: “That book, sir, is the rock on which our Republic rests.”

Patrick Henry, governor of Virginia and signer of the Declaration of Independence, stated: “It cannot be emphasized too clearly and too often that this nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not by religion, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

John Hancock, signer of the Declaration of Independence, said: “Principally and first of all, I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it: and my body I recommend to the earth… nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mercy and power of God.”

Benjamin Rush, signer of the Declaration of Independence, declared: “My only hope of salvation is in the infinite, transcendent love of God manifested to the world by the death of His Son upon the cross. Nothing but His blood will wash away my sins.”

John Hancock and John Adams shook the world with one sentence: “We recognize no sovereign but God, and no King but Jesus.””

Let us compare these comments of the US Founding Fathers with the reactions of Donald Trump and Ms. Hilary Clinton (the defeated presidential candidate of the Democrat Party in the recent presidential election), after the Las Vegas massacre that happened last Sunday, October 1, 2017. This is the deadliest shooting in modern US history where 59 were confirmed dead and more than 500 were wounded. The occasion was an outdoor country music festival where about 22,000 people attended. The lone gunman Stephen Paddock used an automatic rifle and fired continuously for 9 to 11 minutes from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel before the police go to his room.

As quoted by Franklin Graham, well-known Christian leader, preacher, evangelist, in http://www. wnd.com/2017/10/franklin-graham1-huge-difference-between-trumphillary-after-vegas-slaughter/, President Trump who addressed the nation last Monday (October 2, 2017) after the attack said: “Scripture teaches us the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. We seek comfort in those words, for we know that God lives in the hearts of those who grieve. To the wounded who are now recovering in hospitals, we are praying for your full and speedy recovery, and pledge to you our support from this day forward. … We pray for the entire nation to find unity and peace, and we pray for the day when evil is banished and the innocent are safe from hatred and from fear. … May God bless the souls of the lives that are lost, may God give us the grace of healing, and may God provide the grieving families with strength to carry on.”

Ms. Hilary Clinton reportedly tweeted: “The crowd fled at the sound of gunshots. Imagine the deaths if the shooter had a silencer, which the NRA wants to make easier to get.” She followed with: “Our grief isn’t enough. We can and must put politics aside, stand up to the NRA, and work together to try to stop this from happening again.”

Here is what evangelist Franklin Graham says about the aforementioned comments of the two US political leaders: “… it is impossible not to notice the difference in response to the crisis of the Las Vegas shooting massacre yesterday of President Trump and Ms. Hilary Clinton. Hillary immediately – and ineffectively – tried to make it about gun control, her agenda. President Trump brought comfort from God’s Word and pointed America to the importance of prayer. I’m thankful millions noticed the difference.”
