PAL to start Clark-Virac flights on December 15
Responding to the demand of Catanduanes residents for a direct link to Central Luzon, Philippine Airlines(PAL) will be operating a direct Clark to Virac service thrice weekly starting December 15, 2017.
Virac is the capital of Catanduanes.
“The new flights expand our domestic route network and our hub at Clark International Airport, giving travelers the flexibility to choose from our wide array of domestic services,” according to PAL President and Chief Operating Officer Jaime J. Bautista.
The flights will spur tourism and economic activity between the provinces of Catanduanes and Pampanga, says Rep. Cesar V. Sarmiento, Chairman of the House Committee on Transportation. The service will operate Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, departing Clark at 6:00 a.m and arriving in Virac at 7:30 a.m.
Return flights will operate on the same days, leaving Virac at 8:00 a.m. and touching down in Clark at 9:30 a.m.
PAL will operate the 76-seater Bombardier Q400 fleet for the new route.
At present, the flag carrier’s domestic hub operations in Pampanga serve Clark-Basco, Clark-Busuanga, Clark-Caticlan, Clark-Cebu and Clark - Puerto Princesa.
The new domestic flights out of Clark this December will likewise serve Bacolod, Cagayan, Davao and Tagbilaran. From Clark, the flag carrier also serves Seoul, Incheon four times a week.
