Leyte dev’t council approves

TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte – The Provincial Developmen­t Council (PDC) recently approved more than R7.6 billion worth of projects and programs for its Annual Investment Plan (AIP) for 2018, the Leyte provincial government reported yesterday.

Leyte Governor and PDC chairman Leopoldo Dominico L. Petilla said that the 2018 AIP, which was approved by members of the PDC will serve as the basis for the annual budget of the province.

Petilla said that funding for the AIP will be sourced from the province’s R2 billion annual internal revenue allotment (IRA) and funding from government agencies, projected foreign assistance and allocation­s for super typhoon ‘Yolanda’ rehabilita­tion projects.

The governor said that the 2018 AIP of R7,602,260,934 will be submitted to the provincial board for approval.

Petilla said that the 2018 AIP covers activities and projects and the required tagging and tracking of the climate change expenditur­es of the programs.

He added that the activities, projects and programs on the AIP are categorize­d under the social services, economic services and general public services.

R3.94 billion was earmarled for economic services, R1.31 billion for general services, R1.94 billion for social services and R110.2 million for the special education sector.
