GUIGUINTO, Bulacan – Three kidnap victims were rescued safely by joint elements of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office (PPO) and the AntiKidnapping Group (AKG) in Barangay Sta. Cruz, here, the other night.

Supt. Marlon Santos, Officer-InCharge of the PPO, identified one of the three kidnap victims as Yeum Sun Ki, 42, a Korean temporarily residing in Metro Manila. The two victims have yet identified by the lawmen as of press time yesterday.

Santos said that police operations were conducted after they received an email from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea relative to the information that a certain Yeum Sun Ki was kidnapped by an unidentified group in Malate, Manila and was later moved to Ilang-Ilang Street, Barangay Sta. Cruz, this town.

Quickly responding to this information, police operatives conducted a stakeout at the said residence and moved in when a vehicle came out of the gate at 8:25 p.m. Monday.

The vehicle was flagged down to verify its occupants and Yeum was safely rescued. Two other apparent victims – a Korean and a Chinese national – were also taken into custody by police.

Meanwhile, five suspects were arrested by the police team and they were still being interrogated by the AKG as of press time yesterday.

Santos said further details will be made available to media once the facts of the case are set straight.
