The national police was placed under the highest alert status as part of the security preparations for the All Souls’ and All Saints’ Days.

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa, said he has directed all the regional directors to intensify monitoring on all commercial establishments and other soft targets.

“We have declared full alert status in all regions. So all of them are in full alert, on duty to conduct checkpoints in the cemetery,” said dela Rosa.

Meantime, hospitals under the Department of Health (DOH) will be on Code White Alert until Friday, November 3.

“We’re on Code White for this All Saints Day to make sure that all health facilities are ready to address any possible concerns with regards to health threats that may arise during this observance. So, all of them are ready,” DOH spokesperson Lyndon Lee Suy said.

Under Code White Alert, all medical teams are on standby for immediate mobilizatio, with hospital manpower like general and orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, internists, and nurses, ready to respond to emergency situations.

Dela Rosa added that the PNP has not monitored any major threats for the observance of ‘Undas” and even the ASEAN Summit in mid-November.

He, however, said the PNP not take things lightly as he vowed to intensify intelligence-gathering and police visibility.

“We are encouraging the public to be vigilant always to address threat of terrorism, we need to cooperate. If you observe suspcisious things or persons, report them immediately to the authorities,” said dela Rosa.
