Malacañang welcomed the result of the latest survey of Pulse Asia showing that President Duterte is the most trusted chief executive since the time former President and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada.

According to Pulse Asia’s “Comparative Performance and Trust Ratings of Presidents (May, 1999 to September, 2017),” Duterte earned an 80-percent trust rating in September, 2017.

In Pulse Asia’s third quarter survey from September 24 to 30, eight of 10 Filipinos said they still trust Duterte and approve of his work.

Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, in a statement, said they are pleased with the said figures and assured that the President would continue to work for the public’s best interest.

“We are pleased with the people’s verdict giving President Rodrigo Roa Duterte 80% approval rating and 80% trust rating – the highest since the time of former President Joseph Ejercito Estrada,” Roque said yesterday afternoon.

“The President accepts this public appreciation with all humility, but regardless of survey results, PRRD and the members of his Cabinet would continue to work and advance public interests and build, as he said in numerous occasions, a nation worthy of the Filipinos,” he added.

While Duterte currently enjoys the highest trust ratings among all presidents since 1999, his 80-percent rating is still lower compared to the 86 percent he got during the same period last year.
