“no work, no pay” policy will be in effect in Metro Manila, Bulacan and Pampanga during the three-day Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit next week.

President Duterte earlier declared a special non-working holiday in the National Capital Region (NCR), Bulacan, and Pampanga from Nov. 13 to 15 to give way to the ASEAN Summit activities.

During the event, only employees, who will report for work will get an additional pay.

“For work done during a special day, he/she shall be paid an additional 30 percent of his/her daily rate on the first eight hours of work,” Labor and Employment Secretary Silvestre Bello III said in Labor Advisory No. 14, series of 2017.

They will also be entitled to 30 percent of their hourly rate if they will work overtime and another 50 percent of their daily rate if the special holiday coincides with their rest day.
