GENERAL SANTOS CITY – Police have filed charges against five suspected members of New People’s Army (NPA) who were earlier arrested in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato for illegal possession of firearms and explosives. Sr. Supt. Franklin Alvero, South Cotabato police director, identified those charged before the provincial prosecutor’s office as Encarnacio­n Sangco; Ronald Kulaman; Joey Salon, Hannah Adam, and Bryan Muca. Alvero said the suspects were arrested by police and military operatives at their safehouse in Barangay Tasiman, Lake Sebu town last Wednesday. Police also said Sangco is reportedly the wife of NPA leader Commander Billy Sangco, who is the platoon leader of NPA Guerilla Front 73 based in Barangay Lambak, Senator Ninoy Aquino town, Sultan Kudrat.
