KIDAPAWAN CITY – The Cotabato provincial government has released some P1.1 million as livelihood assistance to 18 former rebels that yielded to the Army’s 39th Infantry Battalion. Governor Lala Mendoza, together with Cotabato Interior and Local Government Officer Ali Abdullah, handed the checks to the former guerillas, many of them women, during the Provincial Peace and Order (PPOC) meeting at the provincial capitol complex on Thursday. The livelihood assistance, the governor explained, was part of the Comprehens­ive Local Integratio­n Program (CLIP), a program spearheade­d by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) as part of the government’s peace and developmen­t efforts across the country.
