Baguio tourist arrivals up by 13% this year

BAGUIO CITY – This Summer Capital of the country registered a 13-percent increase in tourist arrivals from January to September this year as compared with the same period in 2016, the City Tourism Office reported yesterday.

Acting City Tourism Officer Jose Maria Rivera, in his report to Mayor Mauricio Domogan, said this increase translates to 115,100 more visitors in the first three quarters of this year.

The CTO recorded a total of 1,128,804 foreign and local tourists visited the Creative’s Summer Capital during the period, compared with the 1,013, 704 in the previous year.

Aside from this, the city hosted a total of 1,977 conference­s, 1,725 of which are regional in scope with a total of 746,129 participan­ts.

The data is based on the informatio­n provided by the different hotels, resorts, apartelles, pension houses, tourism inns and other licensed and unaccredit­ed establishm­ents in the city.
