2 NPAs killed

CAMP BANCASI, Butuan City – Two alleged members of the New People’s Army (NPA) were killed, while an undetermined number of other rebels were believed wounded in a gunbattle Thursday afternoon with government forces at the Kiat Creek area, in Sitio Bagong Silang, Barangay Bayugan III, Rosario town, Agusan del Sur, a sketchy report reaching here on Saturday said. The identity of the slain alleged NPA rebels were not immediately known. However, the bodies were immediately brought Thursday night by the military and barangay officials to the barangay proper of Bayugan III for proper identification and burial. Village officials led by Barangay chairman Reynaldo Cuyos of Bayugan lll urged residents to help identify the slain alleged NPAs for the relatives to properly claim their dead bodies.
