Ford Philippine­s announced October retail sales rising 5 percent year-overyear to 2,598 vehicles, driven by the strong demand for the EcoSport, Everest, and Ranger. “Our biggest-selling nameplates continued to boost our retail performanc­e in October,” said Rodel Gallega, vice president, Marketing and Sales, Ford Philippine­s. “We expect demand to continue through year-end, as consumers continue to pull ahead purchases ahead of the new auto excise tax structure coming into effect.”The EcoSport compact SUV led Ford’s October performanc­e with sales rising 9 percent from a year ago to 889 vehicles, pushing year-to-date sales up 12 percent to 8,739 vehicles. The Everest midsize SUV delivered October sales that grew 2.5 percent year-on-year to 825 vehicles, bringing year-to-date sales to 9,773 vehicles. Sales of the ‘Built Ford Tough’ Ranger increased 10 percent year-on-year in October to 721 vehicles. Year-to-date sales for the Ranger have increased 24 percent to 8,222 vehicles. The premium Explorer SUV saw retail sales rise 22 percent from a year ago to 89 vehicles, pushing year-to-date sales up 9 percent to 932 vehicles. The Mustang sports car delivered sales of 45 vehicles, boosting year-to-date sales up 25 percent to 340 units.
