Anti-crime sweep in Tondo nets 11

Eleven people were arrested while 16 others were invited for verification during simultaneous anti-crime operations carried out by the Manila Police District (MPD) in Tondo, Manila Saturday night in preparation for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit.

Brought to MPD Station 1 in Raxabago, Tondo, were Jimmy Reyes, 58, Jimmy Flores, 44, Joeyboy Nolla, 23, Mark Dones, 26, and Jeffrey Balares, 40.

They were caught playing cara y cruz, an illegal coin toss game.

Reyes and Flores also face a case of illegal gun possession.

Six persons were also brought to the station after being caught drinking in a public place.

They were Joemar Foronda, 27. Sherwin Tria, 18, Anselmo Luarez, Jr., 18, Roben Saavedra, 22, Edwin Petallana, Jr. 21, and El Nino Tomil, 23.
