athletes can get to their competition venue from their accommodation within 10 minutes. This proximity and accessibility will make the Games truly athlete centered. PyeongChang 2018 will promote culture and tourism to leave a legacy beyond winter sports. Alongside the competition, spectators can look forward to a packed program of events at live sites and other hubs across Gangwon province. The Cultural Olympiad will include daily festivals at each venue that can be enjoyed by visitors around the world.
Visitors arriving via Incheon International Airport and Gimpo International Airport need not worry about traveling to PyeongChang with the opening of a high-speed railway that links the Korean capital and the Olympic host city. The railway construction was completed in June and will open to the public in December, 2017. Foreign nationals are eligible to purchase a special tourist pass called the PyeongChangKorail Pass. The pass can be used for an unlimited number of times on trains throughout Korea during the pass duration between February 1, 2018 and March 25, 2018.
All these developments are expected to leave a lasting legacy for the Games and the Province which will lead to the growth of tourism and winter sports in Korea.
