57 graduates of farmers’ training

TACLOBAN CITY — Fifty-seven farmers recently graduated from the three-month training conducted by two farmerasso­ciations in two barangays of Burauen. The farmers were victims of super typhoon Yolanda. Leyte Governor Leopoldo Dominico L. Petilla, who distribute­d the certificat­es of completion, told Manila Bulletin that there that the farmers completed the training on high value crops and vegetables. He said that cash assistance of P5,000 each was given to the farmers for them to open bank accounts in the name of their organizati­on to transact business with government agencies or private entities. Petilla said the farmers are now practicing organic farming. (Restituto Cayubit)
