57 graduates of farmers’ training
TACLOBAN CITY — Fifty-seven farmers recently graduated from the three-month training conducted by two farmerassociations in two barangays of Burauen. The farmers were victims of super typhoon Yolanda. Leyte Governor Leopoldo Dominico L. Petilla, who distributed the certificates of completion, told Manila Bulletin that there that the farmers completed the training on high value crops and vegetables. He said that cash assistance of P5,000 each was given to the farmers for them to open bank accounts in the name of their organization to transact business with government agencies or private entities. Petilla said the farmers are now practicing organic farming. (Restituto Cayubit)
