Madrigal is new Eastmincom commander

DAVAO CITY – Lt. General Bejamin R. Madrigal Jr. has been named new commander of the Eastern Mindanao Command (Eastmincom), replacing Gen. Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero who was recently appointed by President Rodrigo R. Duterte as Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippine­s (AFP). Madrigal will officially take over as head of Eastmincom on November 15 from EMC acting commander Brigadier Gen. Perfecto Rimando in a military change of command ceremony at the Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao Ceremony to be graced by Gen. Guerrero. Madrigal, a member of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Sandiwa” Class of 1985, served as commander of Southern Luzon Command based in Camp General Nakar in Lucena City, Laguna. (Antonio L.
