Tec­tonic quakes con­tinue to shake Suri­gao, Davao prov­inces

BUTUAN CITY – Mild tec­tonic earth­quakes con­tinue to shake Suri­gao and Davao prov­inces, the Philippine In­sti­tute of Vol­canol­ogy and Seis­mol­ogy (Phivolcs) said. How­ever, the state agency said these new tremors that struck the prov­inces of Suri­gao del Sur and Davao Ori­en­tal did not cause any dam­age or in­jury. In its lat­est bul­letin, Phivolcs said a 2.7 mag­ni­tude tre­mor was reg­is­tered at 3:50 a.m. on Tues­day (Nov. 14). The epi­cen­ter was plot­ted 47 kilo­me­ters (km) south­east of Cag­wait town, Suri­gao del Sur prov­ince, it said. The new tre­mor had a depth of 27 km. Ear­lier, a mag­ni­tude 2.9 earth­quake was also recorded at 2:47 a.m. Nov. 14, Phivolcs said. The epi­cen­ter was traced 59 km north­east of Ba­ganga, Davao Ori­en­tal, with a depth of 20 km, it said. At 1:40 a.m., an­other 2.5 mag­ni­tude earth­quake was reg­is­tered and its epi­cen­ter was lo­cated 45 km south­east of nearby Tar­rag­ona town of that same prov­ince of Davao Ori­en­tal, with a depth of 110 km, the state agency said.
