Three suspect, including two teenagers, surrendered to the Pasay City Police yesterday before dawn after being tagged in the killing of a woman last month whose body was dumped along South Luzon Expressway (SLEx) in Cabuyao, Laguna.

The three suspects, identified as Melvin Astorida, 18; Russel Torres, 18, cousin of the primary suspect, and Buboy Phi, 23, surrendered to Maricaban Police Community Precinct (PCP-8) around 1 a.m. through the help of their families and relatives, according to PCP-8 commander Senior Inspector Ferdinand Duren.

The three suspects allegedly helped their friend and the primary suspect, Alfredo Torres, 32, in carrying the body of his live-in partner, Clarissalyn Lizardo, 27, into the suspect’s red Honda car before dumping it.

Lizardo was shot dead reportedly out of jealousy in their house in Maricaban, Pasay last November 28 and her body was found along SLEx on December 2.

Torres was immediately arrested by authorities after he went back to the crime scene to retrieve his malfunctioned car, Duren said.

Torres then tagged four of his friends as his accomplices in the grim incident.

“The other suspects admitted helping the suspect in disposing the body. They learned that the suspect reported them to the police so they immediately surrendered to barangay officials and police,” Duren told the Manila Bulletin.

The suspects claimed they were forced to help Torres since he threatened their lives if they refused.

Duren also said that one more suspect, identified as Danilo Flores, is still being hunted and believed to be hiding in Cavite.

A caliber .45 pistol believed to be used by the suspect was recovered inside the car of Torres, he added.

The suspects were brought to Pasay Police headquarters and appropriate charges are being readied against them.
