7 firms submit bids for 112.5-B Clark Airport expansion

Atotal of seven firms yesterday submitted bid documents for the R12.5-billion Clark Internatio­nal Airport’s new terminal building scheduled to break ground in a couple of weeks for completion in 2020.

The firms include China State Constructi­on Engineerin­g Corporatio­n Ltd., China Harbour Engineerin­g Company Ltd., Sinohydro Corporatio­n Limited, the joint venture of MegawideGM­R Infrastruc­ture (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., DDT Konstract, Inc., R-II Builders, Inc., and Tokwing Constructi­on Corporatio­n.

The Department of Transporta­tion (DOTr) and the Bases Conversion and Developmen­t Authority (BCDA) announced that the seven submitted the bid documents for the design, engineerin­g, and constructi­on of the Clark Internatio­nal Airport new terminal building.

The Special Bids and Awards Committee (SBAC) will conduct the opening, evaluation and deliberati­on of the eligibilit­y documents submitted yesterday, December 5, 2017, at the Kalayaan Hall, SM Aura Office Tower, McKinley Parkway, Taguig City.

The SBAC will open the technical proposals of the eligible firms this Thursday, December 7, 2017 and evaluate them thoroughly.

Qualified bidders will then move on to the next phase of the bidding which is the opening and evaluation of the financial documents scheduled on December 14, 2017.

The SBAC will award the Engineerin­g, Procuremen­t and Constructi­on (EPC) Contract to the winning bidder on December 15, 2017.

The Clark Internatio­nal Airport new terminal building will break ground on December 20, 2017 at the Clark Civil Aviation Complex in Pampanga and will be completed in 2020.

The Clark Internatio­nal Airport is positionin­g to be an alternate global gateway in the country.

It aims to complement other high-impact legacy projects in the Central Luzon Region, under the current administra­tion’s Infrastruc­ture Program – such as the Subic-Clark Cargo Railway, Manila-Clark Railway, and the New Clark City — a smart, green, and modern city to rise in Capas and Bamban, Tarlac.
