Ateenager and his grandfather were shot to death by four still unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen inside their house in Navotas City on Thursday night.

Police said Kenneth Maglonzo, 15, an out-of-school youth, and Fernando dela Cruz, 63, a fisherman, died on the spot after sustaining gunshot wounds in the face, head, and body.

In a report from the Navotas City police, Maglonzo and his three friends were chatting inside Maglonzo’s house on S. Roldan Street in Barangay Tangos, when unidentified gunmen appeared and shot Maglonzo and his grandfather at around 11:15 p.m.

Ferdinand, younger brother of Dela Cruz, told reporters that bystanders saw at least four men wearing masks attack his brother and grandfather before they sped off on board three motorcycles.

Witnesses said that the gunmen approached Maglonzo and his friends first, showing them a picture of Maglonzo.

“They first confirmed if Maglonzo was the one in the photo. Upon confirming, they shot him while his friends ran away,” Ferdinand explained.

Meanwhile, Maglonzo’s grandfather, who was awakened by gunshots, went outside and tried to pacify the gunmen, but he was shot in the chest.

Retrieved from the crime scene were six spent shells, and live ammunition of a still unidentified gun.

Probers said that they learned Maglonzo and his friends had been involved in a riot near a wake in Barangay San Roque, the night before he was killed.

Marilyn Miranda, Barangay San Roque Gender and Development official, confirmed that Maglonzo was one of those minors who were brought to the barangay hall for their alleged involvement in the riot.

Upon apprehension of the minors, barangay watchmen said they recovered a bolo and a slug in the area.

Police are now conducting a follow-up operation to apprehend the gunmen.
